Water Gets an Oxygen Boost

(page 1 of 1)Drink in and breathe out, says OGO's Web site. This European bottled water company is a slap in the face of Aquafina, whose source was revealed to really be tap water.
For those of us who try our hardest to drink eight fluid ounces of water eight times a day, OGO promises an even healthier kick for that oftentimes unattainable dosage.
Produced by Netherlands-based The O-Company and Imported by Memphis, Tennessee’s Verve Brands OGO was launched in the US last year, and nicknamed “The Breathing Water” because it’s packed with an oxygen concentration that’s 35 times higher than regular water.
I gave the very tiny circular bottle of water a go and sure enough, in the midst of another red wine-induced dehydrated state, I instantly felt replenished and not as dizzy as before. The taste was good with what can only be described as mountainous hints.
“OGO is a beautiful combination of health, taste and design,” says Bart Meijer, president and founder of The O-Company. “It’s from a 100% natural spring and the high infusion of oxygen means an extra boost of energy-giving O2 in addition to the exceptionally smooth taste. And the unique, patented spherical OGO bottle, in collaboration with leading Parisian designer Ora Ito, is instantly recognizable and exceptionally refreshing.”
So not only can you say you’re getting more for your buck—or $29.95, the price for a case of 12—but you’re also satisfying that craving you all know you’ve had for a hit of oxygen at one of those bars.
With oxygen boosting energy and acting as a detox for the body, you’re also diminishing your caffeine addiction and doing that cleanse you’ve been putting off for years.
Although OGO’s claim to fame in Europe is a line of oxygen shots pumped from a pressurized canister, here in LA, we can only purchase the bottle version available in two flavors: still and sparkling. Flower Power, a non-alcoholic cocktail of finely-flavored elderflower and lychee, is available soon.
One OGO water bottle contains 11.2 oz (330 ml) of pure oxygen water and retails for about $2.59. www.ogolife.com.
