Mayor Dorn Join Keep Inglewood Beautiful for City-wide Clean-up and Recycling Initiative as Part of 2008 Great American Cleanup.
WHO: Keep Inglewood; Keep America Beautiful; Inglewood PAL/City of Inglewood and Waste Management Inc.
WHAT: Keep Inglewood Beautiful (KIB) will lead volunteers in its city-wide “Yard Sale” to collect computer and electronic waste, trash and debris throughout the city of Inglewood. Residents are invited to come to the central location to sale, barter or trade household items, merchandise, furniture and appliances for the purpose of diverting these things from the local landfills. The community is also encouraged to recycle cell phones, batteries and computers. Children from Inglewood’s Police Department (PAL) will be volunteering throughout the day for KIB’s event.
Nationally, the Great American Cleanup mobilizes close to 3 million volunteers for cleanup, beautification, recycling and educational activities from March 1 – May 31 during 30,000 events in all 50 states. Volunteers across the country are encouraged to campaign for a cleaner, greener America.
WHEN: Saturday, May 3, from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
WHERE: On Kareem Court – Street that runs on the East side of the Forum
